Welcome to the Chilliwack Cultural Centre! We want everyone—patrons, vendors, volunteers, and staff—to feel safe, respected, and valued while enjoying everything our Centre has to offer.
To help create a positive and welcoming environment, we ask that all visitors and community members follow these simple guidelines.
1. Respect & Inclusion
• Treat everyone with dignity, kindness, and respect regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, age, religion, or background.
• Harassment, discrimination, bullying, hate speech, or intimidation in any form will not be tolerated.
• The Centre is a place for artistic expression and cultural engagement—please be respectful of performances, exhibits, and the work of artists and staff.
2. Safety & Conduct
• Follow all safety regulations, including emergency procedures and staff instructions.
• Physical or verbal aggression, threats, or any form of violence will result in immediate action, including possible removal from the premises.
• Do not engage in disruptive behavior, including excessive noise, intoxication, or disorderly conduct.
• Patrons must adhere to BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch policies when consuming alcohol on the premises.
3. Facility Use & Care
• Respect the Centre’s property, equipment, and spaces by keeping them clean and undamaged.
• Any vandalism, theft, or misuse of facilities may result in removal, suspension, or legal action.
• Follow all posted signage and respect restricted areas designated for staff or performers.
4. Professionalism & Integrity (For Vendors, Volunteers, & Staff)
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with patrons, fellow staff, and artists.
• Volunteers and staff must adhere to confidentiality policies and avoid conflicts of interest.
• Vendors must conduct business ethically and transparently, respecting agreements and payment terms.
5. Reporting & Investigation Process
The Chilliwack Cultural Centre takes all concerns related to harassment, discrimination, and misconduct seriously. If an individual experiences or witnesses inappropriate behavior, they are encouraged to report it to Centre management.
• All reports will be reviewed and investigated in a fair and confidential manner.
• The Centre will take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation.
• Disciplinary measures may range from a warning to removal from the premises or other appropriate actions, depending on the severity of the situation.
6. Compliance & Accountability
• All individuals are expected to comply with this Code of Conduct at all times.
• Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in warnings, removal from events, suspension, or legal action, depending on the severity of the violation.
• Reports of violations will be taken seriously and addressed according to the Centre’s policies.
