Tamar Ilana & Ventanas is a dynamic, six‑piece global music and flamenco ensemble based in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 2011 by acclaimed “powerhouse vocalist” and Jewish‑Indigenous artist Tamar Ilana, the band has earned four Canadian Folk Music Award nominations and toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Colombia, Portugal, Ireland, and Spain. Their fourth album, AZADI (2024), features bold original compositions that explore themes of freedom and identity, drawing from the group’s rich cultural and musical roots. The sound is a vibrant fusion of Flamenco, Sephardic, Balkan, Greek, Turkish, Jazz, Pop, Classical, and Mediterranean folk traditions, delivering performances that are both deeply rooted and fearlessly contemporary.
