Bergmann Duo joins Jasper Wood, violin, and Sungyong Lim, cello, in a compelling programme that highlights the vitality and expressive range of “pocket” ensembles. These intimate forces offer a fresh and engaging perspective on much‑loved masterworks, revealing familiar music in a new light. At the heart of the programme is Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, arguably one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable works in classical music. Carl Burchard’s ingenious arrangement for piano four hands, violin, and cello preserves all the symphony’s power, richness, and dramatic sweep, while allowing its inner detail to shine. The programme is completed by the atmospheric Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn and the fiery rhythms of a Brahms Hungarian Dance.
