Step behind the scenes with the Intermediate Stage Performance class (ages 11-15) for All I Really Need To Know I Learned By Being In A Bad Play! Based on several disastrous theatrical experiences, Bad Play peels back a tattered curtain to examine the process of putting on a show that is less than good. A stuffy narrator (what bad play is complete without a stuffy narrator?) guides the audience through the whole sorry process. We go from the audition—where the director is more worried about roast beef than paying attention to the warm-up exercise, and the neurotic cast pretends to be bacon—to rehearsals—where a passive-aggressive stage manager gives everyone grief. This bad play within a play won’t win any awards, but All I Really Need to Know I Learned by Being in a Bad Play is sure to keep you laughing the whole way.
The culmination of studio-wide hard work, CSOPA’s annual Spring Theatre Festival is a collection of ten different shows performed by each CSOPA class.
Enjoy our JR shows as paired double features with two shows for the price of one! The Chilliwack School of Performing Arts (CSOPA) is a non-profit, pre-professional, youth theatre organization working with students ages 5 to 24.
From our youngest and newest performers to the more seasoned teens, there are a variety of fun and wacky stories–some even written by students–to enjoy!
However, the learning doesn’t stop at the curtain. Behind the scenes, CSOPA’s senior students are learning how to become backstage crew members! The Spring Festival is truly a full CSOPA family experience. We hope you’ll join us for an amazing week of incredible youth storytellers and stories.
