SEUSS KIDS

CSOPA’s JR Musical Theatre – B class (ages 8-11) embodies the fantastical cast of Seussian characters in Seussical KIDS. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton’s challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him.

SAVING MS. HONEY

CSOPA’s Intermediate Devised Theatre class (ages 8-11) sends us back in time for Saving Ms. Honey! This show was written entirely by the students of the Intermediate Devised class. In a small one room school house a young school teacher does her best to instruct her rag tag bunch of students while under pressure from the mayor. The Mayor will stop at nothing to have her hand in marriage, and it’s up to her students to reveal his dangerous secret truth to the world.
