Knitting for Knewbies
Adults • Beginner
Are you ready for your first knitting project? This class will take you from casting on to binding off your very handmade project.
Students will learn how to begin a project, how to do the knit and purl stitches and how to create a design using them, how to create lace patterns, add or subtract stitches, and fix any mistakes that happen along the way. There’s nothing more satisfying than creating something with your own two hands, and learning how to knit gives you a skill that you can use for the rest of your life!
All supplies included.
Mellissa Kimberley
Mellissa first learned to knit and embroider from her mother at the age of 8, and is largely self-taught beyond that. She has pursued a variety of fibre arts and crafts for almost 40 years, and medieval arts for 15 years. You’ll be hard-pressed to find her without a craft in her hands! She lives in Chilliwack with her husband and children, and is owned by two cats.
