David Vegt was born and raised in Vernon, British Columbia and currently lives a divided life between Chilliwack and East Vancouver. Painting primarily on birch panel with oil paint, David is mostly influenced by the great traditional painters such as Eduard Manet, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Ilya Repin, John Singer Sargeant, and the Dutch master Rembrandt van Rijn.
