Job Posting: Spring Break Art Camp Leader

The Chilliwack Cultural Centre is seeking applications for a Spring Break Art Camp Leader position.

This position is suitable for anyone looking for experience in the arts and/or teaching children. Previous experience working with young children is an asset.

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, team-orientated workplace.  

The ideal candidates will be involved in the following duties:

  • Supervise youth
  • Supervise volunteers
  • Set-up and clean-up of studios
  • Communicate and interact with staff, parents, and youth age 5 – 12

Candidates should have excellent organization, time management and communication skills, and the tact and diplomacy required to deal in a positive and helpful manner with community groups, businesses, and other staff. The ability to anticipate needs and have a positive outlook is essential.

This is a full-time temporary position running from March 9 (one week before) to April 3, 2020 (one week after) – 40 hours per week and pays $14.85 per hour.

Applicants must be able to have a clean criminal records check for the purpose of working with children.


The Chilliwack Cultural consists of a 575+ seat proscenium arch theatre, a 160+ seat black box theatre, an art gallery, multi-purpose/activity/banquet rooms, multi-purpose lobby and concourse, four arts and crafts studios, 21 music instruction rooms/studios, and office and backstage support facilities. The Centre will present a comprehensive performance series of local and touring productions, as well as a wide selection of arts, crafts, and performance classes and workshops.
