Portinari and the Black Monk
A Special Event

A rare musical show performed by the composer himself; Portinari and the Black Monk, also known as Songs from the Ruins, was composed by English composer Roland Bryce in 2018.
First Canadian premiere at our very own prestigious Chilliwack Cultural Centre after several performances in England. A musical story based on the dissolution of Lewes Priory in 1538 and Gregorian Chants with a modern sonic palette. Mr. Bryce collaborated with local harpist Anya McRae. Enchanting the audiences into a backdrop of the renaissance era with flute and harp music.
Ages 12+ only
Video: The music is a track that Bryce worked on in Dubai. It features some Arabic and Middle Eastern sounds.
