SUMMARY:Complaint Dept. and Lemonade/Things Aren't Soup-Erb
DESCRIPTION:Prices\n$19 – All Seats\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDates & Times\nMay 20\, 2025 – 7:50 pm\nMay 22\, 2025 – 7:50 pm \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nCOMPLAINT DEPT. AND LEMONADE\nCSOPA’s JR Stage Performance class (ages 8-11) \nDemonstrates how People will complain about anything — not almost anything\, but absolutely anything!  In this rapid succession of hysterical grievances\, the complaint department takes on everything from Oreo icing to kleptomania. From songs stuck in the head\, to the price of cheese\, and on and on and on.  Could there be a glimmer of hope for anyone in charge of a complaint department? \n  \nTHINGS AREN’T SOUP-ERB\nCSOPA’s Senior Devised Theatre class (ages 14-19) takes us to a surreal Soup-Topia with Things aren’t Soup-Erb. This show was written entirely by the students in the Senior Devised class. 200 years after a utopian island was created\, things have gone a bit soupy in the pursuit of happiness. A small underground movement attempts to oppose the changes the Soup Cops have made\, and it all comes to head when a nine-year-old boy goes to work with his dad. \n“Welcome to Utopia—have a soup-erb time.”  – AI President Kevin \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCSOPA’s website\nCSOPA’s Facebook\nCSOPA’s Instagram

SUMMARY:Bellamy Brothers: The Love Still Flows Tour
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$70.95 – All Seats\n$65.70 – All Seats – Early Bird\nPatron Program discounts available \nDate and Time: May 15\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n  \n\n  \nTHE BELLAMY BROTHERS: THE LOVE STILL FLOWS… \nHoward and David continue to prove that the trail they’ve ridden to fame has been as unique as their music itself—music that is now celebrating 40 years of success. \nThe road that started on the pop music charts in the ‘70’s\, took a winding turn into country music in the ‘80’s\, paving the way for duos to come\, such as Brooks & Dunn\, Montgomery Gentry\, Big & Rich\, and previously—The Judds. But before the road forked into country\, the musical odyssey of brothers Bellamy started creatively smoldering in their home state of Florida\, before exploding nationally amidst the ’70’s pop music culture of L.A. \nThe brothers first official gig was in 1968\, playing a free show with their father at the Rattlesnake Roundup in San Antonio\, Florida. They honed their early skills playing black clubs throughout the south\, and singing backup for artists such as Percy Sledge\, Eddie Floyd\, and Little Anthony & The Imperials. \nWithin a few months\, the brothers moved north\, immersing themselves and their rock/country sound in the Atlanta market\, where the Allman Brothers were the emerging kings of the music world. \nWith the dawning of the Age of Aquarius on the horizon\, and America embroiled in a smoke haze of drugs\, civil unrest and an unpopular war\, The Bellamy’s music picked-up the hard driving edge that bespoke the times. Songwriting had become David Bellamy’s drug of choice during the long road gigs he and Howard were regularly pulling bodies and equipment to and from. It was his songwriting that was posed to soon provide the duo a national breakout. \nThe break came in the form of the hit\, “Spiders & Snakes\,” written by David and recorded by Jim Stafford. The song became a smash\, eventually selling more than three million units worldwide. It became the catapult that rocketed the brother onto the L.A. music scene. Young and impressionable\, Howard and David fell into the musical circle of the greats of the day: Bob Dylan\, James Taylor\, and Van Morrison\, as well as West Coast based country rockers like Poco and the Byrds. \nIt was a creative shoe that fit. \nNow known by their music and the company they were keeping\, The Bellamys officially lifted off the launch pad in 1976 when their single\, “Let Your Love Flow\,” became an instant smash in both the U.S. and Europe. It stayed on the international charts long enough to build a huge international fan base for the hip young brothers that endures to this day. In Germany alone it perched at #1 for more than two months. The love was indeed flowing as The Bellamys jammed for audiences on their sold-out concerts and shared stages with the likes of Loggins & Messina\, the Doobie Brothers\, and the Beach Boys.\, with their patented blend of rock/country music. \nTrue to their musical roots\, their style and their songwriting was moving steadily more towards their raising. By the late ‘70’s The Bellamys were emerging on the country charts with another bona fide smash. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me)\,” originally scrawled on a dinner napkin by David\, rocketed them to the top of the country charts the way “Let Your Love Flow\,” had done in the pop market just a few years earlier. It proved to be the first of a string of fourteen #1 singles in the U.S. alone. \nSuccess followed success: “Dancing Cowboys\,” “Sugar Daddy\,” “You Ain’t Just Whistlin’ Dixie\,” “Lovers Live Longer\,” “Do You Love As Good As You Look\,” “Redneck Girl\,” “For All The Wrong Reasons\,” “I Love Her Mind\,” “I Need More Of You\,” “Old Hippie\,” “Too Much Is Not Enough\,” “Kids Of The Baby Boom\,” and “Reggae Cowboy” and “Crazy From The Heart\,”…all have lined the corridors of the Bellamy’s musical history and their walls with platinum and gold. \nAlong the way\, Howard and David created a patent on the newly cool “duo” category in country music. In the era of the 2000’s\, The Bellamy Brothers hold the record in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations. Numerous Grammy nods have also been directed toward the brothers. \nInternationally\, the story has been the same—though the titles may be different. The Bellamys have released more than two-dozen hit songs outside the U.S. that were never released here. With a sharp eye on the songwriting skills that have been the bedrock of their success\, Howard and David concur that their career is unique in their international finesse for matching their songs to the market. \n“For the international releases\, you have to have a strong melody\,” notes David. “The lyric is very important\, but internationally the melody is something fans can lock into\, even if they can’t understand the lyrics.” Howard and David continue to perform and film TV specials in Europe and around the world. \nThese days when the subject turns to touring\, The Bellamy’s are showing a new generation of country music how it’s done. “We’re old road dogs\,” grins Howard when asked about the motivation behind the brothers 200 plus concert dates each year. Adds David: “Our live draw is bigger than it was in the ‘80’s. I think the same people that grew up with us and with our music in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s obviously have raised a whole new generation of Bellamy fans who started toddling to our music. Now they’re turning up at our concerts as college kids\, who are really turned on and tuned in to us and our music….it’s a great feeling.” \nOn the infrequent off days from the road\, Howard and David head the bus back to their 150-acre family ranch in Darby\, Florida just north of Tampa. A working ranch\, the spread consists of Purebred Charlois cattle and quarter horses. Amid a land lush with fruit trees\, ancient oaks and crepe myrtles\, three generation of the Bellamy family\, headed by David and Howard’s mother\, Frances\, populate the homes clustered in the family compound. \nThe Bellamy Brothers latest project is their new album titled ’40 Years’ is an ambitious project that celebrates their career with 20 of their biggest hits and then adds 20 brand new songs in this 2 cd anniversary collection.

What makes The Doobie Brothers Experience so special? Well\, just for starters: visual and vocal similarities of Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons\, accurate instrumental work\, soaring harmonies\, and top flight performances – these are the band’s hallmarks\, and foundation to which their performance has been built. With over 240 years of collective professional experience in the band today\, their performances are as close to the real deal as you’ll ever get. \nFrom the Tom Johnston era to the Michael McDonald era\, “The Doobie Brothers Experience” production has evolved into a masterful celebration of The Doobie Brothers music. Most every Rock enthusiast knows the words to “China Grove”; “Long Train Runnin’ “; “What A Fool Believes”; or “Minute By Minute”\, and those who truly love Rock\, can sing along when “Black Water”; or “Dark Eyed Cajun Woman”; or “Jesus Is Just Alright”; or “Takin’ It To The Streets” come up in the playlist. \nIf you love The Doobie Brothers … \nthen welcome to “The Doobie Brothers Experience” and \n“Listen To The Music”. \n  \nThe Doobie Brothers Experience are: \nHENRY LOCKE – lead vocals and lead guitar (40+ years pro)\nTERRY SHELDRAKE – lead vocals and guitar (40+ years pro)\nCLAUDIO FANTINATO – alto/tenor sax; guitar; percussion (40+ years pro)\nRON McKEE – bass guitar and vocals  (38+ years pro)\nMALCOLM GRIER – piano; organ; and vocals (40+ years pro)\nGERRY POOL – drums and vocals (40+ years pro) \n

SUMMARY:Light & Shadow
DESCRIPTION:Price:\nFree admission \nDate and Time:\nExhibit – March 12 to April 12\, 2025 \nGallery Hours: Wednesday to Saturday Noon to 5:00 pm \nOpening Reception on March 15\, 2025\, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm \n\n\n\nArtists throughout history have been fascinated with the play of light and shadow and the imagery implied by each. Renaissance artists such as Michelangelo and da Vinci developed the style of chiaroscuro which used high contrast light and dark tones in their work. In the 17th century Rembrandt elevated the use of chiaroscuro to dramatic effect as did other artists including many contemporary artists today. The language of chiaroscuro translates to both representative and abstract art. \nThe theme\, Light and Shadow\, also lends itself to wide interpretation creatively. Light and dark can represent good and evil\, day and night\, Paradise vs the Underworld\, a healthy mind vs mental illness. The psychologist Carl Jung theorized that the mind can be divided into sections that include the healthy Ego (the light) and a section of repressed unconscious thoughts and actions\, called the Shadow. He believed that uncovering and working on this shadowy section of the personal psyche was beneficial to mental health. There is certainly a lot of fodder for individual artistic expression there. \n\n\n  \nMedia\nChilliwack Visual Artists Association website \nCVAA Facebook \n

SUMMARY:The Legacy of Lightfoot; Gordon Lightfoot Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$50 – All Seats \nDate and Time:\nMarch 29\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n  \n\n  \n“A moving tribute that captures the soulful essence of Gordon Lightfoot’s timeless melodies” – Sidney Folk & Fiddle Festival\n  \nThe Legacy of Lightfoot was born out of an enduring respect and reverence for the iconic music of Gordon Lightfoot. Take a journey through one of the deepest and most prolific catalogues of songs ever written. Not only was Gordon Lightfoot one of the most skilled songwriters of his generation\, but he had the voice and charisma to match. The musicians who have come together to celebrate The Legacy of Lightfoot combine their decades of experience as performers and songwriters to give a meaningful and engaging performance of his enduring catalogue of music. From his days playing the coffee houses in the 1960’s to the mega hits of the 70’s and all the way up to the beautiful music written in his later years\, The Legacy of Lightfoot shines a light on the entirety of Gordon’s masterful career. \nFollowing the graceful passing of Gordon Lightfoot in May 2023 musicians Oliver Swain & Dylan Stone collaborated to organize a concert to celebrate Gordon’s life and music. Swain & Stone are two of British Columbia’s greatly accomplished and experienced songwriters and performers. In the course of their storied careers they have played headlining concerts at Canada’s largest music festivals and between them they share numerous accolades and awards including award wins and nominations at the Juno’s\, Western Canadian Music Awards and Canadian Folk Music Awards. It was a natural fit that these two lifelong career folk-music troubadours work together to give Gordon’s music its proper encore. They surrounded themselves with a talented cast of supporting musicians to form The Legacy of Lightfoot and quickly found an over whelming response to their show. \nWhat started as a humble celebration of Lightfoot’s music has now been elevated to a full touring production that is connecting to large audiences and giving the spirit and legacy of Lightfoot’s music new life and longevity. \n“You will go with me everywhere. When I’m dreaming\, you still share my lonely nights” – Gordon Lightfoot \n  \n\n\n \nLegacy of Lightfoot website\nLegacy of Lightfoot Facebook

SUMMARY:The Ultimate Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$61 – All Seats \nDate and Time: March 23\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n\n  \n\n  \nThe international touring band The Wildflowers are The Ultimate Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. \n“Who doesn’t love Tom Petty?” bassist Darryell Stone asked himself one day in 2012 while listening to the radio. There was only one answer he could imagine\, “Nobody.” Testing his hypothesis\, Stone polled friends\, family and fellow musicians how they felt about Petty. The result was always the same. Everyone loves Tom Petty. \nOne of these fellow musicians just happened to be Tom Petty’s doppelganger\, guitarist and lead vocalist Jonathan Guthrie. Guthrie was an avid fan and had always fantasized about being a Heartbreaker. As two seasoned musicians and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers fans\, there was really only one thing for them to do – form a Tom Petty tribute band. \nIt wasn’t hard for Stone and Guthrie to find skilled musicians excited about playing in a Tom Petty tribute band. Drummer Steve Lucas\, formerly of Feverdog and a bandmate of Stone’s local band\, Theatrix\, quickly signed on. Lucas brought with him his M-80’s band mate Glenn Freeman. Freeman\, who boasts of seeing multiple Tom Petty concerts in the 80s\, brought an instrumental cornucopia to the group with keyboards\, harmonica\, guitar and backing vocals. Lead guitarist Curt Granger rounded out the lineup. With 30+ year’s experience in Birmingham’s local music scene\, Granger has played in such circuit bands as Pyrate\, Scream Sophie\, and his own solo project\, as well as creating a line of world-renowned boutique guitar amplifiers. \nThe new Tom Petty tribute band rehearsed with one focus – to recreate the music of Tom Petty with precision\, attention to detail\, and a reverent respect. Parts were studied in great detail\, down to inflections in the very way each word of every lyric was sung. \n  \n\n  \nMedia \n \nWILDFLOWERS – AMERICA’S #1 TOM PETTY TRIBUTE – SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA 2025 from VaughnCo Entertainment on Vimeo.
