SUMMARY:Derek Seguin: Life of Leisure
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$49.50 – All Seats \nDate and Time:\nApril 3\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n  \n\n  \nComedy super star Derek Seguin is touring Canada with his hysterical new show to celebrate his 20th year as a professional joke teller.\nDerek’s two-time Juno nominated stand-up is always a pure reflection of his dysfunctional life\, but naturally seen through his “slightly” twisted looking glass. This show will feature more of his hilarious stories on the challenges of relationships with his girlfriend\, his three nearly grown-up children and every-day life in a mixed-up world that he finds peculiar at best. With barely a moment to catch your breath between laughs there is never a dull moment in Derek’s shows and for 20 years audiences have loved him for it\, but he loves you more! \nOne of CBC’s The Debaters’ fan-favorites; people are often surprised at the raw nature of Derek’s stand-up… and how short he is. If you haven’t seen him live before; come out and discover the many hilarious surprises that his in-person shows are renowned for. No subject is off limits and no rabbit hole too deep. \n*Please be advised this performance contains frequent use of strong language and is intended for mature audiences. \n  \n\n \nHubcap Promotions website\nHubcap Promotions Facebook

SUMMARY:The Legacy of Lightfoot; Gordon Lightfoot Tribute
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$50 – All Seats \nDate and Time:\nMarch 29\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n  \n\n  \n“A moving tribute that captures the soulful essence of Gordon Lightfoot’s timeless melodies” – Sidney Folk & Fiddle Festival\n  \nThe Legacy of Lightfoot was born out of an enduring respect and reverence for the iconic music of Gordon Lightfoot. Take a journey through one of the deepest and most prolific catalogues of songs ever written. Not only was Gordon Lightfoot one of the most skilled songwriters of his generation\, but he had the voice and charisma to match. The musicians who have come together to celebrate The Legacy of Lightfoot combine their decades of experience as performers and songwriters to give a meaningful and engaging performance of his enduring catalogue of music. From his days playing the coffee houses in the 1960’s to the mega hits of the 70’s and all the way up to the beautiful music written in his later years\, The Legacy of Lightfoot shines a light on the entirety of Gordon’s masterful career. \nFollowing the graceful passing of Gordon Lightfoot in May 2023 musicians Oliver Swain & Dylan Stone collaborated to organize a concert to celebrate Gordon’s life and music. Swain & Stone are two of British Columbia’s greatly accomplished and experienced songwriters and performers. In the course of their storied careers they have played headlining concerts at Canada’s largest music festivals and between them they share numerous accolades and awards including award wins and nominations at the Juno’s\, Western Canadian Music Awards and Canadian Folk Music Awards. It was a natural fit that these two lifelong career folk-music troubadours work together to give Gordon’s music its proper encore. They surrounded themselves with a talented cast of supporting musicians to form The Legacy of Lightfoot and quickly found an over whelming response to their show. \nWhat started as a humble celebration of Lightfoot’s music has now been elevated to a full touring production that is connecting to large audiences and giving the spirit and legacy of Lightfoot’s music new life and longevity. \n“You will go with me everywhere. When I’m dreaming\, you still share my lonely nights” – Gordon Lightfoot \n  \n\n\n \nLegacy of Lightfoot website\nLegacy of Lightfoot Facebook

He was absolutely astonished at the band’s accuracy stating “It’s amazing how much you sound like us. You must have grown up on this because you were inside the music\, and you paid attention to detail in your presentation…I can tell you guys really love our music!” \nThis encounter led to the members of Led Zepagain attending Led Zeppelin’s 2007 Reunion Concert at London’s O2 Arena by invitation of Mr. Page as well as a surprise visit from Jason Bonham in March of 2009 as he sat in with the band on their encore performance of the song “Rock and Roll”. \n  \n \nLed Zepagain was honored to have been featured on AXS TV’s “World’s Greatest Tribute Bands” in 2014 and were asked to come back for an encore performance in March of 2017 to perform the iconic Led Zeppelin “lV” album in its entirety. \nLED ZEPAGAIN regularly performs to packed houses all over the world. SUMMARY:The Ultimate Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heart Breakers
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$61 – All Seats \nDate and Time: March 23\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n\n  \n\n  \nThe international touring band The Wildflowers are The Ultimate Tribute to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. \n“Who doesn’t love Tom Petty?” bassist Darryell Stone asked himself one day in 2012 while listening to the radio. There was only one answer he could imagine\, “Nobody.” Testing his hypothesis\, Stone polled friends\, family and fellow musicians how they felt about Petty. The result was always the same. Everyone loves Tom Petty. \nOne of these fellow musicians just happened to be Tom Petty’s doppelganger\, guitarist and lead vocalist Jonathan Guthrie. Guthrie was an avid fan and had always fantasized about being a Heartbreaker. As two seasoned musicians and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers fans\, there was really only one thing for them to do – form a Tom Petty tribute band. \nIt wasn’t hard for Stone and Guthrie to find skilled musicians excited about playing in a Tom Petty tribute band. Drummer Steve Lucas\, formerly of Feverdog and a bandmate of Stone’s local band\, Theatrix\, quickly signed on. Lucas brought with him his M-80’s band mate Glenn Freeman. Freeman\, who boasts of seeing multiple Tom Petty concerts in the 80s\, brought an instrumental cornucopia to the group with keyboards\, harmonica\, guitar and backing vocals. Lead guitarist Curt Granger rounded out the lineup. With 30+ year’s experience in Birmingham’s local music scene\, Granger has played in such circuit bands as Pyrate\, Scream Sophie\, and his own solo project\, as well as creating a line of world-renowned boutique guitar amplifiers. \nThe new Tom Petty tribute band rehearsed with one focus – to recreate the music of Tom Petty with precision\, attention to detail\, and a reverent respect. Parts were studied in great detail\, down to inflections in the very way each word of every lyric was sung. \n  \n\n  \nMedia \n \nWILDFLOWERS – AMERICA’S #1 TOM PETTY TRIBUTE – SOUTHERN BRITISH COLUMBIA 2025 from VaughnCo Entertainment on Vimeo.

SUMMARY:Walk Right Back\, The Everly Brothers Story
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$65  – All Seats \nDate and Time:\nMarch 13\, 2025 – 7:00 pm \n  \n\n  \nDIRECT FROM THE UK! Following an incredible sell out tour\, Walk Right Back returns to stages in 2025 by popular demand.\nFrom the producers of UK’s smash hit show That’ll Be The Day\, this phenomenal production tells the story of the most successful musical duo of all time – The Everly Brothers. Featuring hits such as Bye Bye Love\, All I Have To Do Is Dream and Cathy’s Clown\, this unique concert-based musical entwines the wonderful\, sad yet glorious story of The Everly Brothers. \nThe show follows the brothers’ rise to fame from humble country beginning to superstardom\, through their decade-long feud to their glorious reunion which gave them back to each other\, and back to the world. \nWith “harmonies from heaven” that influenced The Beatles\, The Beach Boys\, and Simon & Garfunkel\, The Everly Brothers were unmatched in their talent. Also featuring songs from a couple of the Everly Brothers’ good friends\, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison. \nProducer Trevor Payne (That’ll Be The Day) says: “The Everly Brothers were an original and unique act that had a sound like nothing else. Their harmonies were so tight that every group wanted to emulate them. Before that there was a singer\, a band and backing vocals\, The Everly’s entwined all of them and created “the harmony group.” Walk Right Back is the first show of its kind to tell this phenomenal story of two brothers and their unforgettable music. This is a show not to be missed!

DESCRIPTION:Price:\nFree admission \nDate and Time:\nExhibit – February 5 to March 8\, 2025 \nGallery Hours: Wednesday to Saturday Noon to 5:00 pm \nOpening Reception on February 15\, 2025\, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm \n\n\n  \nAs humans we marvel at nature with awe and appreciate the beauty and differences in animals for what they are. This show relates this thought to humans. We struggle to love each other for who we are. Josh Henry’s work embraces the beauty and differences of all of us.\nJosh has been creating art as long as he can remember. Over the years he has evolved with growing styles to make his own. He is on an exciting path of rebirth in his artwork\, it Is filled with color\, life and a positive message. Be it nature\, wildlife\, figurative art the message is clear\, life is beautiful. No matter what shape\, size\, age or walk of life we are all beautiful. In wildlife we are in awe of how beautiful animals or birds are. Not judging shapes and sizes but respecting just how they are. This journey in his art is showing the similarities of this concept towards humans and birds. If we can love the differences of birds then why can’t we do that in our own race. His art will show case the beauty of the human form from all backgrounds and embracing our differences to be displayed directly in front of the viewer to bring up conversation and understanding on how beautiful we can be if we only look\, embrace and understand. \n  \n\n\n  \nMedia\nChilliwack Visual Artists Association website \nCVAA Facebook \n

SUMMARY:Marie Chouinard – Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun and Rite of Spring
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$49 – Standard Ticket Price\n20% 0ff – Explore the Arts Red Membership Program Rate\n15% 0ff – Joy Years (55+) Membership Program Rate\n10% 0ff – Discovery Membership Program Rate\n$15 – U28 (under 28) Membership Program Rate \nDate and Time:\nFebruary 3\, 2025 – 7:30 pm \n  \n\n  \nPresented with PuSh International Performing Arts Festival \nA powerful and primal performance that blends dance\, music\, and storytelling!\nRite of Spring brings world famous choreographer\, Marie Chouinard to the Chilliwack stage! Don’t miss out on this avant-garde performance that brings music and dance together unlike anything before. \nIn the trajectory of Marie Chouinard\, The Rite of Spring occupies a special place. Choosing to revisit this powerful hymn to life\, the choreographer creates her first work based on a musical score. Igor Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring explores a New World in its own way and marks the entry of dance into modernity. Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun is poetry for the theatre\, as Marie Chouinard reimagines this classic Debussy piece with a new score and her own powerful choreography. Marie Chouinard finds in this avant-garde work an original pulsation in resonance with her own gestures. Far from constraining the rhythm of his dance\, the breath of this powerful score inspires it\, accompanies it\, and energizes it\, both the echo and the musical counterpoint of an organic\, vigorous\, and exalted choreography. \nAdult material and situations – may not be appropriate for all audiences. \n  \n\n  \n \n \nExcerpt LE SACRE DU PRINTEMPS / THE RITE OF SPRING (1993) – Compagnie Marie Chouinard from Compagnie Marie Chouinard on Vimeo. \nMarie Chouinard Website \nPUSH International Performing Arts Festival Website \n\n\n\n\n  \n\nJoin us for a special preshow event in the Centre’s lobby – a modern Black & White affair; dress up in your finest black and white attire to enjoy music and performance activation\, and an art exhibit focusing on the human form!\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event promises an evening of art and elegance\, elevated by YOU! SUMMARY:Embodied Motion: A Celebration of the Human Form
DESCRIPTION:Price:\nFree admission \nDate and Time:\nExhibit – January 27 to February 5\, 2025 \n\n\n  \nThis short exhibit showcases artwork by our live model open studio students\, celebrating the beauty and dynamic nature of the human form in motion.\n\nThese pieces invite viewers to reflect on the ways our bodies express emotion\, grace\, and power. On display from January 27 to February 5\, the exhibit ties into our presentation of Marie Chouinard’s Rite of Spring at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.\n\n\nThe exhibit can also be viewed during a black-and-white themed soiree on February 3rd prior to our showing of Rite of Spring\, featuring a live model session where artists capture movement in real time\, further exploring the connection between dance\, movement\, and artistic expression.\n\n*Adult material and situations – may not be appropriate for all audiences. \n  \nPreshow event before Marie Chouinard’s Rite of Spring. \n\n\n  \n\nArtists: \n  \nNicola Withers \nNicola Withers is an Abbotsford-based artist\, who mainly works in pencil\, charcoal\, conte or ink. She has a BFA from Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design with a focus in drawing and printmaking. Now that her kids are getting older\, this is giving her the time to find a renewed inspiration which has revitalized her passion for her creative art. For the past few years\, she has been focusing on portraits\, but has been drawn back to her love of life drawing through opportunities to attend live model classes. She is inspired by the way the nude body offers the flow of lines without the restriction and disguise of angular clothing. She is also interested in how we can view nudes in non-sexual ways. Her favourite are the quick poses where she can use a variety of line markings to create dynamic poses. \nDescription of Body of Work: \nFor these pieces\, I was inspired by my love of quick posed life drawings and the lines that the body creates. \nMy creative process started with taking drawings from my life drawing classes; then I used the following questions to direct this body of work:\n• How can I portray movement in a static image so that the whole action can be encapsulated in one pose?\n• What lines are necessary to define the pose?\n• How can I show beauty for the nude body without it being highly sexualized? \nWhile much of my work is done in black ink and washes\, lately\, I have been experimenting with adding colour\, specifically using watercolour. I want to leave the viewers with an appreciation for the allure of the human body. \nIG: @nicolawithers_art \n  \nTravis Clarke \nTravis Clarke is a Canadian artist born and raised in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia. Inspired by the surrounding nature and the many fantastic myths they birth\, he often finds himself trying to bring stories unseen to life. Rather then try to render the world as seen\, he believes it’s an artists duty to bring out the world others cant see. Often in his live model art\, the aim is to push the expression\, pose\, or colours seen and build it into a story for viewers to grasp a feeling. \nIG: travis_sketches \nTravisSketches.com \n  \n  \nJeannette Bittman \nIG: @jeannettebittman
