Of memory that survives and endures. Of land that remembers how to heal.\nCameron sinkʷə Fraser-Monroe returns with his newest work\, Cikilaxʷm: Controlled Burn\, a full-length narrative ballet that blazes across time and tradition. Featuring an original commissioned score by Cree cellist and composer Cris Derksen\, the work is brought to life through projections by Euro/Omushkego Cree artist Andy Moro and costumes by Navajo/Cherokee designer Asa Benally\, each layering the stage with history and meaning. Set in a dystopian future of endless wildfire seasons\, the ballet follows a young Indigenous firefighter whose beliefs are challenged when he meets Mothkʷ\, a fierce guardian of ancestral knowledge who practices cultural burning. SUMMARY:Bergmann Duo: Pocket Symphonies
DESCRIPTION:Price:\n$35.00 – All Seats\nMembership program discounts available. \n$15.00 – Student Rate -15 & Under (no membership discount) \nDate and Time:\nMay 3\, 2027 – 7:30 pm \n  \n\n\n  \nFrom Storm to Stillness: Great Symphonies in Pocket Size.\nBergmann Duo joins Jasper Wood\, violin\, and Sungyong Lim\, cello\, in a compelling programme that highlights the vitality and expressive range of “pocket” ensembles. These intimate forces offer a fresh and engaging perspective on much‑loved masterworks\, revealing familiar music in a new light. At the heart of the programme is Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony\, arguably one of the most iconic and instantly recognizable works in classical music. Carl Burchard’s ingenious arrangement for piano four hands\, violin\, and cello preserves all the symphony’s power\, richness\, and dramatic sweep\, while allowing its inner detail to shine. The programme is completed by the atmospheric Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn and the fiery rhythms of a Brahms Hungarian Dance. \n  \n  \n\n\nSungyong Lim website\nJasper Wood website\nBergmann Duo website\nBergmann Duo Facebook \n
