Job Opportunity: Summer Art Camp Assistant Leader

Job Posting: Summer Art Camp Assistant Leader, Chilliwack Cultural Centre, Chilliwack, British Columbia. The Chilliwack Cultural Centre is seeking summer students for Summer Art Camp Assistant Leader positions.

These positions are suitable for anyone looking for experience in the arts and/or teaching children. Previous experience working with young children is an asset.

These positions are available to University students who are just completing the school year and intend to return in the Fall of 2018.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a dynamic, team-orientated workplace.

The ideal candidates will be involved in the following duties:
• Daily preparation, inventory and organization of supplies and materials
• Co-teach all program activities
• Supervise youth
• Set-up and clean-up of studios
• Communicate and interact with staff parents and youth age 5 – 12 years of age

Candidates should have excellent organization, time management and communication skills, and the tact and diplomacy required to deal in a positive and helpful manner with community groups, businesses, and other staff. The ability to anticipate needs and have a positive outlook is essential.
These are full-time summer positions starting in June 2018 – 40 hours per week and pays $11.85 per hour.

Applicants must be able to have a clean criminal records check for the purpose of working with children.
The Chilliwack Cultural consists of a 575+ seat proscenium arch theatre, a 160+ seat black box theatre, an art gallery, multi-purpose/activity/banquet rooms, multi-purpose lobby and concourse, four arts and crafts studios, 21 music instruction rooms/studios, and office and backstage support facilities. The Centre will present a comprehensive performance series of local and touring productions, as well as a wide selection of arts, crafts, and performance classes and workshops.
